MY NAME IS LAUREN
I am a watercolor artist based in Northern Virginia. Growing up in suburban Connecticut, I always had a special fondness for art, historical architecture, and nature. After completing graduate school at Georgetown University, I settled in the DC area. At the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, I once again brought out my paintbrushes as a way to beat the stress and pass the time. I quickly realized it was a way to not only remember the things and places that brought me so much joy, but became a medium for expressing my deepest emotions. Others took note and soon after, I began receiving commissions and requests to show in DC galleries.
I am mesmerized by the rich history and tradition of iconic landmarks, yet also find comfort and beauty in the everyday scenes of life. In my art, I try to capture energy with bright color and evoke shared experiences of familiar places. Hope you enjoy!
